
Stephanie Mei-Ling is a documentary photographer based between Brooklyn and Los Angeles. A self-taught Black-American/Taiwanese photographer, Mei-Ling’s work explores the layered complexity of intersectional identity; society’s fetishization of marginalized subcultures; the universality of otherness, and the appropriation and reclaiming of cultural narratives of invisible communities. Her work has been published in The New York Times, National Geographic, Time Magazine, The Atlantic, Washington Post, Vogue, Vice, NPR, Huffington Post, The Cut, The Guardian, and High Country News. Her work has been acquired by the Smithsonian for their permanent collection.
